These TIAB Terms of Service govern your TIAB account, website access, and related services. They are separate from the license agreement governing the iOS app. By creating an account or using TIAB services, you agree to these terms.
1. Using TIAB
You may use TIAB for personal vocabulary capture, study, and recall in compliance with these terms and applicable law. You are responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity performed through your account or a connected client you authorize. If you use TIAB for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
2. Your content
You retain ownership of content you add to TIAB (“Your Content”). You give us a limited permission to host, process, reproduce, display, and transmit Your Content only as needed to operate and improve the service.
You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to use it. Keep source excerpts reasonably short and limited to what is useful for learning. Do not use TIAB to scrape, upload, or distribute full works or content that infringes another person's rights.
3. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use TIAB unlawfully or infringe another person's rights;
- scrape, upload, or redistribute substantial copyrighted works;
- probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass security controls;
- access another user's account or data without permission;
- misuse connected AI or MCP features to automate abusive activity; or
- reverse engineer the service except where applicable law permits it.
4. AI and learning information
AI-generated meanings, pronunciation, examples, and other learning suggestions are aids, not authoritative translations or professional advice. Verify important content independently and review or edit a suggestion before saving it.
TIAB does not guarantee learning outcomes, uninterrupted availability, or that every feature will always be available in every region or on every device.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
TIAB Plus is available through weekly and twelve-month auto-renewable subscriptions, as well as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price and subscription period are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
Auto-renewable subscriptions continue for the selected period until cancelled through your Apple Account settings. Apple processes payment, renewals, cancellations, and eligible refunds. The lifetime option is a non-consumable purchase and does not create a recurring charge.
For TIAB downloaded from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement governs the license to install and use the iOS app. These TIAB Terms of Service govern the TIAB account and services; they do not replace or modify Apple's standard EULA.
6. Third-party services
TIAB may link to or interoperate with third-party services, including connected AI clients, OpenAI, YouTube, websites you link, and app stores. Their terms and privacy practices govern your direct use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices.
7. TIAB's intellectual property
TIAB and its software, design, name, and other service materials are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use TIAB under these terms, no rights are granted to you. Feedback you choose to provide may be used by TIAB without restriction or compensation.
8. Availability, suspension, and termination
TIAB may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. You may stop using TIAB and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, secure the service, comply with law, or address a serious breach of these terms.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
TIAB is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. TIAB does not warrant that the service will always be secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or that its results will be accurate.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, TIAB and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as TIAB changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. By continuing to use TIAB after the effective date, you agree to the updated terms.
